LEAN SIX SIGMA GREEN BELT TO BLACK BELT TRAINING
This
eight day workshop develops Lean Six Sigma Greenbelts into Blackbelts
qualifying them to become agents of change within an organization. It is suited
to those who will have a company-wide role in Six Sigma, including the
deployment of the methodology, project selection work, and leadership
responsibilities. The course uses a blend of theory and practical exercises to
ensure that delegates have the confidence and capability to deliver more
complex business improvement projects and transformations
Black Belts can develop individual projects or
they can engage in a macro Black Belt project which can incorporate several
Green Belt projects as support. The tools acquired during training will enable
them to solve more challenging problems and use team dynamics to lead
improvement teams towards the implementation of change within the organization.
Besides
refresher training on key topics covered at Greenbelt level, subjects dealt
with in the Blackbelt course include project mandate preparation, team
leadership and facilitation techniques, as well as project management skills.
On the
data analysis side, Statistical analysis plays a major part of this course. Means
to deal with non-normal data are considered, there are also sections on
probability, the binomial and Poisson distributions, and multiple factor analysis.
Design of experiments is also considered – this is a structured approach to
experimentation to help determine which inputs are important in a process.
Previous
participant organisations include Balcas, Citi, Kingspan Renewables, Translink,
AVX, Terumo, Schlumberger Ryobi, J.W. Kane, and Moy Park.
Course Structure
The training modules are split as follows:
Define/Measure: 3 days
Analyse: 3 days
Improve/Control: 2 days
A gap of
around 4 weeks between each module provides an opportunity for trainees to work
on a project within their workplace, applying the methodology learned during
the previous session's training. Extra support can be provided for the trainees
with their project work.
Certification
Certification is
available upon completion of Blackbelt training plus one project in which the
targeted savings have been achieved; a report which demonstrates the use of the
tools and methodology is required. A test also has to be undertaken.
This
workshop can also be delivered in-house as a stand-alone training workshop or
integrated into wider improvement activities.
